Updated: Nov 16, 2022

We're in the second half of the season and this has been a wild ride for sure! Let's see how we've done to this point!

Week 1 - 7-8-1

Week 2 - 9-7

Week 3 - 6-10

Week 4 - 7-9

Week 5 - 10-6

Week 6 - 5-9

Week 7 - 8-6

Week 8 - 10-5

Week 9 - 11-2

Season so far: 73-62-1

The last three weeks have been very kind! Now, let's get to the picks and start the second half off right!

Thursday:

Falcons over Panthers (home)

A quick turnaround after playing each other two weeks ago - a game the Panthers should have won in regulation. The Falcons are better and Panther's QB P.J. Walker is coming off a terrible week.

Sunday:

Seahawks over Buccaneers (in Germany)

A match-up of division leaders, this was hard for me due to me believing in Tom Brady. But, the Seahawks have been better and are led by the clear-cut frontrunner for Comeback Player of the Year in QB Geno Smith.

Bears (home) over Lions

Offensively, the Bears have been good lately and I think they can produce against a bad Lions defense. I don't think the game will be a blowout, though, since the Lions do play for their coach and are coming off an emotional home win against Green Bay.

Dolphins (home) over Browns

Tua has not lost a game that he has started and finished this season. While the Browns are struggling along while waiting on Desean Watson to come back from suspension. At least they were on a bye last week.

Titans (home) over Broncos

Despite losing out on a chance at being the top seed in the AFC with their loss last week, it's about the time of year where the Titans seem to round in to playoff shape. If rookie QB Malik Willis plays, this game could be closer and will feature a HUGE amount of RB Derrick Henry against a good Broncos defense. I'm not sold on the Broncos offense and I wonder how much of that is on Russel Wilson and how much of that is on head coach Nathaniel Hackett. If this game was in Denver, I would have flipped this pick if the rookie plays.

Bills (home) over Vikings

The best game of the week on paper. Two conference powers going head to head, I'm surprised that the NFL didn't have this game flexed to Sunday night. I would have picked the Vikings had this been played in Minnesota and not Orchard Park. But, since the Bills are home, and Josh Allen is coming off a tough loss, I'm going with the Bills.

Giants (home) over Texans

The Giants had the week off to observe the Texans. We last saw them go to the Great Northwest and suffer a loss to a good Seahawks team. Meanwhile, the Texans were on a mini-bye having played on Thursday and lost, but were competitive, at home against Philadelphia (game was tied at halftime). The Texans have only lost twice this year by more than 10 points. Every Giants game, except their last, has been decided by one score. I think more of the same happens.

Chiefs (home) over Jaguars

The Chiefs are coming off a too-close-for-comfort win against the Titans, who started a rookie QB. I'm sure Andy Reid and the rest of the braintrust in K.C. want to turn it around quickly as the #1 seed in the AFC is still at play. Coming to town is a Jags team that just came back from 17 down at home against the Raiders. I don't think they'll take the Jags lightly.

Steelers (home) over Saints

I'm probably going to regret this one as neither team has been that great. The Steelers are in transition and have traded away Chase Claypool. This is head coach Mike Tomlin's toughest year. The Saints seem to not have their current QB on the roster despite having pieces like Alvin Kamara and good rookie Chris Olave. I'm just going with the better coach in this matchup.

Colts (home) over Raiders

Jeff Saturday makes his head coaching debut for the Colts after a lifeless loss in Foxborough. After blowing another lead, Josh McDaniels has not been good as a coach for the Raiders (should have kept Rich Bisacchia, in my opinion). If this pick comes true, I wouldn't be surprised if McDaniels is the NEXT coach to go.

Rams (home) over Cardinals

Another pick that would have went the other way if the hone team was flipped. Both teams are coming off of tough losses. The Rams need a win BAD. So do the Cards. Which team wins? The one that wants it more and I believe that will be the Rams in this game.

Cowboys over Packers (home)

This game on paper at the start of the season looked like it had the makings of a classic. Unless Green Bay gets it together, it will be anything but. QB Dak Prescott has had two easy games and a bye to get ready for this one after coming back from an injury and I do expect him to have the Cowboys offense rolling. This would be a statement win for Green Bay to knock off a conference power at home. Something that the Cowboys, I'm sure, are well aware of.

49ers (home) over Chargers

A intrastate matchup on primetime. I really like Chargers QB Justin Herbert but, life will probably be a little difficult in Santa Clara for him while they navigate injuries and a good SF defense. Meanwhile, the Niners are coming off a bye and will be rested and ready for the Bolts. As long as QB Jimmy G doesn't turn the ball over (give the ball to Deebo and CMC, please), the 49ers should take this.

Monday:

Eagles (home) over Commanders

Duh! Don't I always say that? Despite being an Eagles fan, I don't expect the team to take the Commanders lightly. They are coming off a tough loss against Minnesota that they should have won had QB Taylor Heinicke not turned it over in the waning moments. They will be looking to give Philly their best shot on Monday night. The Eagles are coming off a mine bye after a short week road win against the Texans in which bad tackling and run defense kept the game close all the way until halftime. Head coach Nick Sirianni has said they will get it fixed, so I'm inclined to believe him. Having outscored Houston 15-3 in the second half, the team is still yet to trail in the second half and lead the league in time spent with the lead. I would expect more of the same but perhaps not a blowout.

With the week over and week 11 a day away, let's see how we did!

Wins:

Dolphins, Titans, Giants, Chiefs, Steelers, Colts, 49ers

Falcons, Seahawks, Bears, Bills, Rams, Cowboys, Eagles
